Brian Aldridge, 47
May 4, 1977 – September 10, 2024
HOUSTON – Brian Aldridge left this earth to meet his Savior on September 10th, 2024, following an extended illness. His wife, Jenna Leigh, and children all were by his side. Brian was born on May 4, 1977, to Janice and Louis Aldridge. Brian lived a life of service to others. He began his ministry, Touched by an Angel Camp, at the age of 19 while still in college. Touched by an Angel began as a day camp centered around horseback therapy for children and adults with physical and mental disabilities. It grew to an overnight camp with summer and weekend sessions and youth groups attending from all over the country. The camp was inspired by his love for his sister, Amanda Claire. Despite his constant pestering, he loved her greatly. She was his first love and helped build him into the man he became.
In November of 2003, Brian was elected to the Mississippi House of Representatives serving District 17 for 12 years. He spent his time in the legislature working with leaders from around the State to pass a variety of important laws. Many of his relationships still stand strong today.
Anyone who knew Brian knew that there were two things he loved; family and sports. Brian gave his all coaching. He coached everything from tee ball to pee wee football forming profound relationships that he treasured. He served as President of Houston High School Touchdown Club. He loved supporting the players and making sure they had everything they needed and more. If you were ever one of “his guys,” you had a supporter for life. Brian treasured his family. He adored his three children, Jackson (18), Eli (16), and Embry (14) and his wife of 19 years, Jenna Leigh. Everything he did was to build a positive legacy for them and to support their dreams. He wanted his kids to know that he loved them more than anything else. Above all, Brian wanted his life to point to Jesus. He wanted everyone to see Jesus in his service and life. If you were on one of his teams, you were one of his boys. If you worked for him, you were his. Brian loved big and that was because of his big love of Jesus.
He could outwork anyone. He was the boss that wanted to teach you as much as he wanted you to work. He was the coach that built you up. He was the best husband and father anyone could dream of. His greatest wish was for his life to always reflect God’s love.
Brian’s Memorial Service will be at 3 PM on Saturday, September 14, 2024 at First Baptist Church in Houston, MS. There will be a reception afterward in the Family Life Center. Burial will be private.
