Bro. Bobbie Ferrell Brandon, 77

May 23, 1947 – July 12, 2024

On Friday morning, July 12, 2024, Bro. Bobbie Ferrell Brandon, 77, resident of Potts Camp, passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home surrounded by family following a brief illness.



Funeral services, with Military Honors, will be at 11 AM Saturday, July 20 at Cornerstone Baptist Church in Hickory Flat with Bro. David Wells and Bro. Patrick Smith officiating. Visitation will be Friday, July 19 from 5 PM to 8 PM at Cornerstone Baptist Church and will continue Saturday from 9 AM until service time. Burial will follow in Temperance Hill Cemetery in Potts Camp.

Bro. Brandon was born May 23, 1947, in Bissell, MS, the son of the late Nolan and Nell Hester Brandon. He received his education at the Alcorn Central High School and proudly enlisted and served in the United States Navy at the age of 17. On August 12, 1965, he married his beloved wife, Shirley Mae Westmoreland Brandon, who survives.

A devout Christian, retired minister of Old Paths Baptist Church and retired welder for TRUMBO INC, Bro. Brandon was a man of God and a man of strong faith. A true family man, he was a faithful husband to his wife, a devoted father to his children and a loving grandfather to his seventeen grand and great grandchildren who he adored. Known as “piddler” and an excellent fisherman, Bro. Brandon enjoyed fishing and “grappling” with his grandsons.

In addition to his wife of 58 years, precious memories will continue to be shared by two daughters, Michelle Alexander (James) of Houlka, Kim Clayton (Billy Joe) of Hickory Flat, one son, Bobby Brandon, Jr. of Houlka, one brother, Delmer Brandon, seven grandchildren, Amanda Purdy, Keisha McCraw, Rachel Smith, Billy Clayton II, Bethany Slaton, Bryan Clayton and Logan Brandon and ten great grandchildren, Rylan McCraw, Finley McCraw, Maisie McCraw, Kallie Wilson, Addison Clayton, Bryleigh Clayton, Kensington Slaton, Natalie Slaton, Olivia Slaton and Kylie Brandon.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a sister, Glorie Brandon, two brothers, Eddie and James Brandon.
