Burt Birmingham, 76

August 29, 1947 – July 24, 2024

OKOLONA – Burt Wayne Birmingham, a good ole soul, departed this life and met his Creator from his residence in Okolona at 7:50 PM on Wednesday, July 24, 2024. He was 76 years old. Burt was born in Tupelo on August 29, 1947, to the late Lymuel and Winnie Lou Booth Birmingham. He grew up in the Nettleton area and graduated from Nettleton High School. Burt worked various jobs before making a 28 year career as a driver/deliveryman for United Postal Service (UPS), retiring in 2012. Burt was an outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing and hunting in his lifetime. Burt attended New Liberty Baptist Church in Vardaman. He and his wife, Judy, enjoyed traveling, sharing special times with their families, and enjoying their lives together.



A service celebrating Burt’s life will be held at 1 PM Saturday, July 27, 2024 from New Liberty Baptist Church, 211 CR 427, Vardaman, with his pastor, Bro. Jeff Harmon officiating. Burial will follow in Lee Memorial Park in Verona. Visitation will be from 5 PM-7PM Friday, July 26, 2024 at the Okolona Chapel of Holland Funeral Directors and from Noon-service time Sat. at New Liberty Baptist Church.

Burt is survived by his wife, Judy Barnett Birmingham, whom he married on May 19, 2001; his daughter, Amy Hurley of Nettleton; his son, Lucas Birmingham of Okolona; 2 grandchildren, Ally Hurley and Wrenley Birmingham; his sister, Mitzi Hagan of Ashville, NC; several nieces, nephews, cousins and their families. Burt was preceded in death by his parents, Lymuel and Winnie Birmingham of Nettleton.

Pallbearers will be Jamie Hill, Johnny Kakales, Manuel Mata, Spencer Hill, James Guest, and Ethan Longest.
