Candy Sue Ash Ford was born on December 17, 1974, in New Albany, MS, to the late Gene Ash and Janie West Ash. She transitioned on Monday, March 2, 2026, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in New Albany, MS.
She attended Potts Camp Attendance Center. She loved fishing, yard work, writing poems, coloring, gardening, music, and her dog Cujo.
She is preceded in death by her parents: Gene Ash and Janie West Ash, one brother, Derek Ash, one sister, Phillis Gray, and a nephew, Christopher Ford.
Candy Sue’s memories will be cherished by her husband: David Owens of Potts Camp, MS; son: Joshua Owens of Hickory Flat, MS and stepson: Lucas Owens of Lamar, MS; daughters: Ashley Nowlin (Bryon) of Hickory Flat, MS, Kimberly Ford (Thomas Hardin) of Mason, TN and stepdaughter: Hannah Ash of Lamar, MS; two brothers: Faron Ash (Brenda) of Potts Camp, MS, and David Ash (Bonnie) of Hornsby, TN; sisters: Sue Cocke of Mt. Pleasant, MS, Marie Whitehead (Tommy) of Ashland, MS, and Amanda Ford (Wayne) of Whiteville, TN; fifteen grandchildren Kansas Downs, Dalton Ford, Hunter Ford, Hunter Nowlin, Henry Nowlin, Weston Hughey, Annah Claire Ash, Emma Kate Ash, Brayden Culver, Channing Hardin, Lyvia Hardin, Ava Grace Cook, Makenzie Ownes, and Maddie Owens; one great grandchild; three uncles: Ricky Ash (Willie), Mickey Ash both of Potts Camp, MS, and Jackie Ash of New Albany, MS; two aunts: Judy West of Hickory Flat, MS and Sue Bolden of Lamar, MS and a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, March 12, 2026 at Serenity Funeral Home Chapel 140 N. Memphis St., Holly Springs, MS 38635
Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 13, 2026 at Serenity Funeral Home Chapel 140 N. Memphis St., Holly Springs, MS 38635
Interment: Asbury Cemetery in Waterford, MS
