Carol Lane Pryor, 72

June 21, 1953  –  February 24, 2026

Carol Lane Pryor, known affectionately as Carol to her friends and family, passed away peacefully on February 24, 2026, at the age of 72 at Baptist Memorial Hospital – East in Memphis, TN. Born on June 21, 1953, in New Albany, Mississippi, Carol was the cherished daughter of Sarah Emogene Coker Huffstatler and the late Talmadge Huffstatler.

A vibrant soul with an infectious laugh, Carol spread joy wherever she went. She expressed her love for life through her passion for playing the guitar and singing, often serenading friends and family with heartfelt tunes. Carol’s creativity was boundless; she found great pleasure in making crafts and crocheting, bringing color and warmth into the lives of those around her. She enjoyed the challenge of jigsaw puzzles, a hobby that reflected her meticulous and determined nature.

Online shopping was another delight for Carol, always on the lookout for that perfect piece to add to her beloved collection of jewelry. Her playful spirit and sense of humor made her the light of many gatherings, but perhaps nothing shone brighter in her life than her love for her devoted dog, Chase, who was a constant companion and source of unwavering loyalty.

Remembered for her loving disposition, Carol was a friend to all. She welcomed others with open arms, forging deep and lasting connections through her warmth and generosity. Quick with a joke and always ready to share a smile, Carol formed the bedrock of many friendships and will be dearly missed by the community that came to know her friendly nature.

Carol’s family was the cornerstone of her world. She is survived by her adoring mother, Sarah Emogene Coker Huffstatler; her loving daughter, Tammy Michelle Jolly; her treasured grandson, Dalton Friar and his wife, Channing; her dear aunt, Lil Nelson; and a host of appreciative cousins. These family bonds, infused with shared laughter and love, are a testament to the extraordinary woman Carol was.
