Carolyn Dye

March 13, 1947 – April 16, 2025

Carolyn Dye, born on March 13, 1947, in Mississippi, passed away peacefully on April 16, 2025, at Magnolia Place in New Albany, MS, at the age of 78. A long-time resident of New Albany, Carolyn was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, known for her warm spirit and caring heart.



Carolyn worked at Masterbilt until retirement and then took care of her mother. A devoted member of Faith Baptist Church, Carolyn held her church family, especially the ladies of Faith Baptist, close to her heart. She had a gift for caring for others, embodying the love of the Lord in her daily life. Her passions included shopping, indulging in ice cream and Frosty’s, and spending quality time with her grandchildren.

She cherished her family, leaving behind her sons Mike (Susan) Dye, Wayne (Melissa) Dye and Sandy (Becky) Dye, as well as her daughters Tina (Randy) Baggett and Pam (Greg) Morton.

Carolyn is also survived by her brothers John (Jackie) Verrell, Mike (Cheryl) Verrell, and Randy (Sandra) Verrell, she was a doting grandmother to her fifteen grandchildren and her twenty-three great grandchildren who will miss her dearly along with a host of nieces and nephews who mourn her loss but celebrate her life.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents James Verrell and Marie Howard, brothers: Larry Verrell, James Verrell, Tommy Verrell, father of her children and love of her life: Jimmie Dye.

Visitation will be held at Faith Baptist Church in Myrtle, MS on Saturday, April 19, 2025, from 2:00 PM-4:00 PM. A Celebration of Life service will take place at 4:00 PM. Family, friends, and her church community are invited to gather and honor Carolyn’s legacy of love and compassion. Pastor Claude Mills will be officiating the services.

Pallbearers will be Colt Dye, Big Will Morton, Little Will Morton, Dalton Baggett, Chandler Baggett, Michael (Ralph) Dye and Nick Dye.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Missions of Faith Baptist Church in Myrtle, MS, honoring Carolyn’s unwavering commitment to her faith and community.

Carolyn Dye’s vibrant spirit and loving presence will be profoundly missed, but her legacy of kindness and love will continue to inspire all who knew her.
