Charles ” Chuck” Coleman, 59
June 4, 1966 – September 12, 2025
Natchez Trace Villa’s (Saltillo)-Charles Wesley “Chuck” Coleman was called to the other realm from North Miss. Medical Center at 10:03 AM Friday, September 12, 2025. He was 59 years old. Born in Greenville on June 4, 1966, he was the son of the late Charlie Coleman and Margaret Ware Coleman. He graduated from Greenville Christian Academy and began work at Wal-Mart in Greenville as a pet’s department employee. 33 ½ years later, he retired from Wal-Mart having worked himself to being a store manager in New Albany, Tupelo on West Main and 5 years in Royal Palm Beach, Fla-a “complex” Wal-Mart-the largest of all company stores. He also worked at the West Monroe, La. store for a time. His managerial skills were excellent and he was respected and supported by his employees and customers alike. Charles married the love of his life, Tanya Michelle Longing Coleman in Ouachita Parish, La. on March 27, 1992, after meeting her at Wal-Mart. They moved to Tupelo in 1996. A born naturalist, Chuck loved nature, its adventure, its majesty and beauty and its deep meaning for him personally, a hallmark of his spirituality. He loved the outdoors and his home and land was a sanctuary for exotic animals, dogs, trees and an immaculately kept yard. He was a master gardener and loved all kinds of plants and flowers. He and his life partner, Tanya were exotic animal and dog breeders and their collection was extensive. They were parents to golden retrievers, Australian Shepherds, chickens, geese, turkeys, miniature pigs, rabbits and a myriad of other animals which they lovingly raised. Charles Coleman cut a wide path in his all too brief life and left a legacy of a beautiful husband, the consummate retail store manager and an all around good guy. He will be sorely missed.
