Tupelo – Mrs. Cherry Lynn Mancill, 68, died Tuesday, October 28, 2025, while at North MS Medical Center. She was born March 7, 1957, to the marital union of F.L. Dickerson, Jr. and Marie Wilhite Dickerson. Cherry was a high school graduate and married Danny Mancill February 9, 1978. She was very talented and loved to sing in her younger adult years. She was blessed with the opportunities of singing with Country Legend, Porter Wagner, Speck Rhodes, Ernie Ashworth, and Johnny Rodrigeuz. Her greatest joy in life was her family, especially her son, Daniel and her grandchildren Jack and Delilah. Cherry had a strong faith and was a member of New Life Fellowship in Tupelo where she was involved until it moved to Columbus.
A celebration of Cherry’s life and home-going will be at 2 PM, Sunday, November 2, 2025 in the Sadie Holland Memorial Chapel of Holland Funeral Directors with Bro. Kenny Gardner and Bro. Drake Merritt officiating, assisted by eulogist, Rob Morgan. Private burial will follow in Union Cemetery, East of Plantersville. Visitation will be Sunday from 12 noon to service time.
Survivors include her husband of 47 years, Danny Mancill of Tupelo; her son Daniel Mancill and his wife Colleen of Guyton, Georgia; one brother, Johnny Dickerson of Dorsey; one sister, Monica Dunsford and her husband, Richard of Tupelo; two grandchildren who she loved very much, Jack and Delilah Mancill of Guyton, Georgia; a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister-in-law, Marilyn Dickerson.
Pallbearers will be Wilbur Mancill, Jerry Mancill, Richard Dunsford, Austin Dunsford, and Rick Dunsford.
