Chris Allen Jenne, 64

Christopher “Chris” Allen Jenne, 64, of Blue Springs, Mississippi, passed away at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi in Oxford following a brief illness.
Chris was born on January 31, 1962, in Memphis, Tennessee, to Woodford “Woody” Jenne III and Mary Connelly Jenne. He attended Marshall Academy in Holly Springs and later worked in construction for much of his career.
Chris was married to Betty Dowdy Jenne, with whom he shared his life and family. Those who knew Chris knew exactly where they stood with him. He was funny, upfront, and admittedly stubborn—a combination that made him unmistakably Chris. He enjoyed hunting and target shooting and had a particular interest in guns, whether he was collecting them, refinishing them, or simply appreciating the craftsmanship behind them. Woodworking was another pastime he enjoyed, and he took pride in the projects he chose to work on.
Of all the things Chris enjoyed in life, nothing compared to his grandchildren. They held an especially important place in his heart, and he loved them more than anything. He also had a faithful four-legged companion, Sadie, who was very much a part of his life and brought him a great deal of comfort and joy.
Chris is survived by his wife, Betty Dowdy Jenne; his daughter, Angie McMillen; his son, Steve McMillen (Tara), both of New Albany; his sister, Elizabeth “Lisa” Zodin (Scott) of Austin, Texas; and his grandchildren, Katianne High (Zack), Joel McMillen, Madilyn McMillen, Jacob McMillen, and Isla McMillen, all of New Albany. He is also survived by his nieces, Allie Zodin and Anna Faulkner (Nathan), and his great-nephew, Cooper Faulkner, all of Austin, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. Woodford “Woody” Jenne III and Mrs. Mary Connelly Jenne; his maternal grandparents, Mr. William and Mrs. Jonnie Connelly; and his paternal grandparents, Mr. Woodford Jenne Jr. and Mrs. Jewel Jenne, and his dogs Pepper and Zipper.
Chris will be remembered for being completely himself—funny, strong-willed, and straightforward. His family will especially remember the love he had for his grandchildren, the things he enjoyed, and the personality that made him one of a kind.
A memorial service celebrating Chris’s life will be held at a later date.
