Civic center cancels jazz and pop performance

The Magnolia Civic Center has cancelled an Aug. 28 performance by the Brennan Villines Quartet titled The Jazz Age: Popular Music Through the Decades with a Jazz Twist.

Poor ticket sales was cited as a reason for the cancellation.

The Jazz Age would have featured early jazz favorites and modern pop songs done up with a jazz flair. Artists ranged from Cole Porter to Britney Spears, and from The Beatles to Drake.
