The city’s 2017-2018 budget may make for an interesting meeting.

The New Albany Board of Aldermen will hold its final hearing on the city’s 2017-2018 budget, Thursday, Sept. 14, at 5:30 p.m. at city hall. The budget must be approved not later than the next day, Friday, Sept. 15, and the process of developing a the budget is coming down to the wire.

This year there have apparently been some disagreements within the Board of Aldermen on several budget issues. Funding for various departments has apparently been hard to agree upon.

Whether or not some or all city employees will get a raise and, if so, how much, has been the subject of some disagreement.

Should be an interesting meeting.
