Community expresses thanks and support for those who serve and protect

In light of the recent events dominating the headlines of today’s news, New Albany shines as a community that intends to rise above,  promoting racial harmony and mutual respect among it’s citizens.

New Albany resident Kaye Parks organized a special prayer session at the Union County Courthouse, where a group of caring citizens gathered today ( Sunday July 10th) and prayed for our local law enforcement and first responders.

Moved by the kindness and care of the community and churches,  Chief of Police Chris Robertson said “I struggle to find the words to express how I feel about the overwhelming support, well wishes, and prayers. New Albany is a great community. My family, the men and women of the New Albany Police Department, and I are extremely fortunate to live and work in a place that cares so deeply. It would be impossible for us or any first responders to do our jobs without the support of the community.”
