Coroner investigates death of woman in Alpine community of Union County

Discovery of the body of a deceased woman sent Union County Sheriff’s officers to the scene in northeast Union County around 6 p.m. Monday, Sept. 21.

The woman has been identified as Amy Benjamin Taylor, about age 47. The body was reportedly found in or near a pond.

Early reports indicated the woman had drowned. However, Union County Coroner Pam Boman told NEMiss.News that the cause of death has not been determined. An autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death.
