County Board 7OCT2019 :

In its first meeting of the 2019-2020 fiscal year, the Union County Board of Supervisors transacted a variety of routine business.

Routine business conducted by the Board on October 7, 2019 included:

  • Allocating appropriations for the first quarter of the fiscal year including $539,360 for the sheriff’s department; $286,256 for the county jail; and $181,138 for the tax collector’s office.
  • Approving the September claims docket.
  • Approving the minutes of its September meetings.
  • Accepting the resignation of Steve Livingston as youth court prosecutor.

The Ingomar Volunteer Fire Department has acquired a new fire truck. The truck it replaces was declared surplus. The surplus truck will be sold to the highest bidder.  The money from the sale will be turned over to the Ingomar Fire Department.

At the request of Union County Tax Collector and Assessor Tameri Dunnam, the board:

  • Approved the September 2019 tag surrender list.
  • Approved a contract for Tapp Appraisal.
  • Approved insolvency lists for mobile homes and personal property.

The board approved two bids for road department equipment including:

  • The low bid of $5,651.97 from Tri-Green, a Tennessee company, for a hydraulic motor for a limb-cutting machine.
  • The low bid of $16,021.89 from Summit Equipment for repairs to a dump truck.’

The next regularly scheduled meeting of the Union County Board of Supervisors will be on Monday, Oct. 28, 2019, at 10 a.m.
