Damon Johnson, 55

May 8, 1970 – March 11, 2026

Damon Johnson, age 55, known and loved by all who knew him best as “Hollywood,” departed this earthly life and entered into his eternal rest on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at his home in New Albany, Mississippi.

In accordance with his wishes, Hollywood will be cremated, and a celebration of his life will be held at 3 PM on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at his home, 971 County Road 115, Lot 2, New Albany, Mississippi 38652. All who knew and loved him are warmly invited to come and share in a time of fellowship, good food, laughter, and the many wonderful stories that celebrate the life of such a remarkable man.

Born on May 8, 1970, in Modesto, California, Hollywood was the son of the late Raymond Johnson and Juanita Henderson. At the age of five, he moved to Turlock, California, where he was raised and spent much of his younger years. After completing his education, Hollywood built a life centered around hard work and dedication. For over twenty years, he worked with A.L. Gilbert in Oakdale, California, a career that reflected his strong work ethic and commitment to providing for his family. Later in life, he moved to Mississippi, where he spent the last four years of his career working as a truck driver with Nutrien Ag Solutions until his retirement.

On October 12, 2001, he married the love of his life, Stephanie Johnson, who survives. Together they built a home filled with love and laughter in the Union County area, raising their family and creating a lifetime of cherished memories.

A Christian by faith, Hollywood found his greatest joy in the simple pleasures of life, especially when they involved the outdoors. Whether he was golfing, hunting, fishing, camping, or simply enjoying nature, he was happiest when surrounded by fresh air and good company. He was also a devoted Cleveland Browns fan, often joking that being a Browns fan had taught him how to handle disappointment with humor and grace. His quick wit, contagious smile, and easygoing personality made him someone people naturally gravitated toward.

Above all else, family was the center of Hollywood’s world. He treasured every moment spent with his loved ones, especially his grandchildren, whom he adored and loved giving playful nicknames. His loyalty, honesty, and genuine kindness left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Though his passing leaves a void that cannot be filled, Hollywood’s legacy of laughter, love, and unwavering friendship will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him. The memories shared, the stories told, and the joy he brought into the lives of others will forever remain a testament to the remarkable man he was.

In addition to his beloved wife, Stephanie Johnson, he is survived by one daughter, Kayley Stallings; two sons, Todd Stallings and Zachary Stallings (Elizabeth); three grandchildren, M. J. Covello, Little Zach Stallings, and Christine Covello; and his special cousins, Keith Henderson (Kathy), Nathan Henderson (Jessie), and Jim Henderson (Kelly), along with a wide circle of extended family and many dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
