David Ray Allen, Sr., 50

December 29, 1974 – June 6, 2025

David Ray Allen Sr., age 50 and resident of Ashland, Mississippi, departed this world as he heard the voice of Jesus calling him home, on Friday June 6, 2025, at his home surrounded by his wife and son.

Funeral Service honoring David’s life will be at 12 Noon on Wednesday June 4, 2025, in the heritage chapel of the Ripley Funeral Home with visitation from 11 AM until time of service. Bro. Rick Wells Jr. will officiate, and burial will follow in the Hamilton Cemetery in Benton County.

David was born on December 29, 1974, in the Tippah County Hospital to Mr. Donnie and Mrs. Dorris Allen. While receiving his education from Falkner High School, he was a member of the varsity football team. After school, David began his love for “tinkering” with anything that needed repair by entering the workforce as a maintenance professional. In 2006 David married the love of his life, and lifelong best friend, Jacueline Lynn Ladd. Together they enjoyed one another’s companionship, growing their family after they had one son, David Ray Allen Jr.

Over the years David’s love for mechanics grew into a passionate quest to tackle the most difficult of repairs, many of which were for friends, and typically at no cost. While always offering a helping hand to anyone he could and helping out wherever he was needed, David was a longtime friend with the Wilburn’s and employed with Wilburn Automotive in Ashland. Another hobby David has was to find, collect and restore old firearms to their original state.

David was a Christian who early in life surrendered his life to the Lord at Harmony Baptist Church where he remained a member. David grew into a deep personal relationship with the Lord all through his life.

Along with his wife, Jackie, and son, David, he is survived by his mother and father, Doris and Donny Alle, of Falkner, his sister, Kristy Bennett (Charles) of Falkner, his special nieces and nephews, as well as numerous other family members and friends.

David was preceded in death by his beloved grandfather. James (J. L.) “Papa” Jackson, his grandmother, Shirley Jackson, his great nephew, Tucker Mercer, and his maternal grandparents, Frank and Hildred Turbeville.

Those serving as pallbearers will be Noah Wells, James Wells, Triston Sanford, Trenton Mercer, Trey Mercer, and William Jackson Wilburn.

Honorary pallbearers will be Chris Williams, Josh Wilburn, Shannon Wilburn, and Whitney Wilburn.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the Benton County Emergency Services, the Benton County Sheriff’s Department, and the Benton County Coroner along with Ripley Funeral Home for their compassionate and professional services during this time.
