Denise Burnett, 54
August 6, 1970 – May 25, 2025
Ethel Denise Burnett, known affectionately as Denise to her friends and family, passed away on May 25, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on August 6, 1970, in Phoenix, Arizona, Denise’s vibrant spirit and infectious laughter brought joy to all who knew her.
Denise’s life was marked by her unwavering commitment to her family and her passion for caring for others. As a certified CNA, she dedicated her life to nurturing and supporting those in need, embodying the gentle and loving nature that became her hallmark. Her ability to speak her mind, combined with her unique sense of humor, endeared her to her colleagues and patients alike, leaving a legacy of smiles and warmth that will be remembered by all.
Above all, Denise was a devoted mother and grandmother. She is survived by her two daughters, Melba Ary (Gary) and Lottie Gann (Austin); two sons, Billy Burnett (Hilliary) and Christopher Burnett; and one living sister, Edith Edwards. Denise’s love for her family knew no bounds, and she took immense pride in her twelve grandchildren: Olivia Blackburn, Paton Blackburn, McKenzie Burnett, Karson Ary, Ava Burnett, Conner Ary, Brayden Burnett, Benjamin Burnett, Jaxon Gann, Piper Gann, Farrah Burnett, and Brixx Rasberry. Each of them was a source of immeasurable joy and pride for Denise, and she cherished every moment spent with them. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hubert and Mabel Edwards, one sister Susie Lamar, one daughter-in-law, Felisha Diane Burnett, and two brothers, Paul and Richard “Ricky” Edwards.
Denise’s life was a tapestry of love and laughter, woven with the threads of her ever-present humor and the gentle touch she extended to everyone she met. Her love for her grandchildren was particularly profound, as she reveled in their accomplishments and adventures, always encouraging them to follow their dreams with the same tenacity she demonstrated throughout her life.
In remembering Denise, we are called to emulate her example: to love deeply, laugh heartily, and live each day with the same courage and zest that she did. Her indomitable spirit, the love she shared, and the joy she brought to our lives will never be forgotten.
Denise Burnett’s story is one of a life well-lived, a life filled with love, laughter, and the gentle touch of a woman who made the world a better place simply by being in it. As we say goodbye, we do so with the knowledge that her legacy will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of her beloved family and all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Services to honor her life will be on Saturday, May 31, 2025 at 4:00pm at United Funeral Service. A visitation will be on Friday from 5:00pm until 8:00pm also at United
