Donald Ray Alexander, 70
Belden – Mr. Donald Ray Alexander, a good ole colorful soul, age 70, died Tuesday, February 14, 2023 at North Mississippi Medical Center. He was born January 13, 1953 in Tupelo, Mississippi to the union of Archie Green Alexander and Grace Brooks Alexander. He was a 1971 graduate of Tupelo High School. Don married Janet Lynne Smith on June 2, 1973 at Booneville First Baptist Church and they made their home in Lee County where they raised their daughter, Kimberly. He worked most of his adult life as an industrial equipment salesman. He was a faithful member of West Jackson Street Baptist Church. He loved cars, any kind of cars with four wheels and an engine. He enjoyed auctions, buying and selling. His favorite hobby was being ordered around by his granddaughter, Allie Claire White.
A celebration of life service will be at 2 PM Friday, February 17, 2023 in the Sadie Holland Memorial Chapel of Holland Funeral Directors with Rev. Dr. Keith Cochran officiating and Dr. Ron Mitchell, Phd. delivering the eulogy. Visitation will be Friday from 11AM to service time only. Private burial will follow at Tupelo Memorial Park.
Don is survived by his wife of 49 years, Janet Alexander of Belden; his daughter Kimberly White (Stan) of Biloxi; mother-in-law, Virginia Smith of Corinth; brother, Arnold Alexander (Connie) of Tupelo; sister Patti Hodges of Nevada; 3 grandchildren, Allie Claire White, Drew White (Grace), and Jake White, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Victoria “Vicky” Sartain, and brother-in-law, Bill Hodges.
Pallbearers will be Raymond Moody, Eddie Summers, Danny Maynard, Robert Giompoletti, Randy Benson, Charles Sample, Deral McKnight, and Dewayne Sewell. Honorary pallbearers will be Eddie Sullivan Sunday School Class, West Jackson Street Baptist Church.
