Donald Ray Dodd, 78

May 2, 1947 – January 14, 2026

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Donald Ray Dodd, on January 14, 2026, after facing a long illness. Born on May 2, 1947, in Union County, Donald’s journey spanned 78 years of love, dedication, and kindness. Donald was the epitome of a loving and committed family man. He cherished his 49 years of marriage to his beloved wife, Linda Barkley Dodd. Together, they raised their son Jeff Dodd, who gave them the joy of a grandchild, Harper Dodd. He will forever be in the hearts of his sister, Brenda Pannell, and his family who found comfort in his steadfast presence. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Eloise Gardner Dodd, as well as his brothers, Ronald (his twin) and Jackie Dodd.



Throughout his life, Donald exemplified the virtues of hard work and dedication. He took great pride in his role as a grocery route supervisor, a position he held for many years, enriching the corporate family of Malone & Hyde and S.A.J. with his tireless work ethic and dependable nature.

A devout Christian, Donald was a cherished member of the Ingomar Community Church. His passion extended to his hobbies, where he brought new life to antique tractors and trucks through his restorative talents. He would spend countless hours meticulously caring for each piece, ensuring a legacy of history preserved under his watchful eyes. He also enjoyed his friendship and getting to eat with the Romeo Club.

Services to honor his life will be on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at 11:00am with visitation on Friday from 5:00 – 7:00 and on the day of the service 10 – 11:00, all at United Funeral Service. Burial will be Ingomar Cemetery.
