Born December 16, 1934, in Tippah County, Mississippi, Mrs. Dorothy Leona Crum was the daughter of the late Harlon and Donnie Spencer Wilbanks and received her education in the Walnut School System. From an early age, her life reflected a deep love for the Lord and a commitment to walking in His ways.  In 1949, she married the love of her life, Mr. James Crum, and together they built a God-honoring home—serving the Lord faithfully and raising their children in the nurture and admonition of Christ.

Mrs. Crum was a devoted and faithful member of New Covenant Christian Assembly Church. She treasured the Word of God, hiding it in her heart, and lived it out daily. A mighty prayer warrior, she believed deeply in the power of prayer and interceded earnestly for her family, her church, and all whom the Lord placed in her path.

Through her testimony and obedience, she touched countless lives, pointing them always toward Jesus. She loved listening to and singing gospel music, lifting her voice in praise to the One she served. Above all, she loved her family and taught them by example the importance of serving the Lord with a faithful and obedient heart. Her life was one of surrender, worship, and unwavering faith.

There is no doubt that she has now heard the words, “Well done, thou good and faithful servant,” and wears a beautiful crown of stars laid up for her in Heaven.

Those left to cherish and honor Mrs. Crum’s memory include her two daughters, Lisa Murray (Randall) of Savannah, Tennessee, and Betty Childers; two sons, Jimmy Crum (Pattie) and Gregory Crum, both of Walnut; two sisters, Helen Ferguson of Corinth and Cloyce Crum of Walnut; seven grandchildren, Kevin Jackson (Kelly), Jenny Mullins, Chassity Roach, Kayla Eidson (Jay), Brandon Crum, and Cody and Jason Childers; nine great-grandchildren, Cody Jackson, Hunter Rencher, Avery Mohundro, Trevor Hall, Gibson DeShazier, Emberley Guy, Johnny Roach, Jenna Mathis (Tyler) and Ellee Childers; one great-great-grandchild, Oakley Mathis; a host of nieces and nephews; and her loving church family, whom she dearly loved and faithfully served.
