Dorothy Faye Dye McMillen, known lovingly to many as Dot, passed away on May 4, 2026, at New Albany Health and Rehab in New Albany, Mississippi, at the age of 94.

Dot was born on March 14, 1932, in Union County, Mississippi, to the late Edgar Thomas Dye and Ollie Mae Sanford Dye. She lived a long and meaningful life marked by kindness, strength, and a steady willingness to help others. Those who knew her will remember her as a loving, kind, and handy woman who met life with quiet grace and a generous spirit.

Dot was a devoted mother and grandmother whose family meant everything to her. She is survived by her daughter, Lana Holt and her husband Tim, and her son, David Duggar. She also leaves behind six grandchildren, Michael Shirley, Amanda Tobie Tapper, Emily Willard, Justin Duggar, Lee Allen Holt, and Sara Beth Barkley, along with twelve great-grandchildren who brought her great joy. In addition to her immediate family, she is remembered by many extended loved ones and friends whose lives were touched by her warmth and care.

She was preceded in death by her son, Dennis Duggar, and by her sisters, Mary Davis, Sybil Adair, and Inez Gillespie, as well as her brothers, Carl Dye, Jimmie Dye, and Billy Dye. Their memories remained close to her heart throughout her life.

Dot retired after many years of service as a seamstress for Mohasco Mfg., formerly Futorian Mfg. Her work reflected the same careful attention and dependable nature that defined her life. After retirement, she enjoyed bowling in multiple leagues at the New Albany Bowling Center. She was also known for doing the uniform alterations for the New Albany Junior ROTC, a task she took pride in and carried out with skill and dedication. Handy with her hands and thoughtful in her actions, she was always willing to lend her talents wherever they were needed.

In her later years, Dot was a resident of New Albany Health and Rehab where she loved the staff and fellow residents like family. She formed meaningful bonds there and was grateful for the care and companionship she received. Her presence brought comfort and familiarity to those around her, and she was cherished by many within that community.

She also attended Pleasant Hill Baptist Church most recently, where her faith remained an important part of her life. Her days were marked by simple joys, faithful routines, and the love she shared so freely with others.
