Douglas wins Baptist Hospital service award

Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union County recently announced Amanda Douglas, BSN, RN, has been named Service First Champion for the quarter.  Amanda, a certified emergency nurse, was nominated by a colleague and is a past recipient of the Service First award.

Service First Champions are individuals who consistently exceed all expectations for the purpose of serving others and are nominated by colleagues, physicians, patients and theirfamily/support persons foroutstanding service.

The colleague wrote, “Amanda is very passionate about her patient care, going above and beyond just routine care in the ED. She is truly a blessing to us at Baptist Union County and to the patients.”  The nomination also stated that Amanda is known for checking on her patients after they are discharged from the hospital.

“Amanda’s compassion and empathy for her patients exemplifies what a Service First Champion should be,” said James Grantham, CEO and Administrator.  “It is outstanding team members like Amanda who make a real difference at Baptist Union County and in the lives of our patients.”

The Chartis Center for Rural Health also recognized the hospital as one of the Top 100 Rural & Community Hospitals in the country.
