Dr. Bill Cooper, 75

October 25, 1949  –  January 21, 2025

Dr. William “Bill” Henry Cooper Jr., 75, of Battlefield, MO passed away at home January 21st, 2025. He was the son of William Henry Cooper Sr. and Maebell Edwards Cooper of Portsmouth, Virginia. Bill was a graduate of Old Dominion University, received his masters from Reformed Theological Seminary, and Doctor of Ministry from Covenant Seminary. He was a Presbyterian minister for 31 years, adjunct professor for Belhaven University, Evangel University, and Birmingham Theological Seminary. Bill taught middle and high school at Westminster Christian Academy (Huntsville, AL) and Gloria Deo Academy (Springfield, MO). He coached baseball, owned a comic shop and used book store, and authored two books.



William is preceded in death by his parents, William Sr. and Maebell, and brother Russell Hill. He is survived by his wife, Regina Greer Cooper of Battlefield, MO (married 47 years), his son William “Will” Greer Cooper and his wife Erin Doyle Cooper of Los Angeles, CA, his son Benjamin “Ben” Edward Cooper of Madison, AL, and his sister, Jean Smith and family.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 am January 27th, 2025 at Christ Episcopal Church in Springfield, MO, with Father Joe Behen officiating, under the direction of Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home.  Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 pm January 26th, 2025 at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home.

Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 29, 2025 at Cornersville Cemetery in Marshall County, Mississippi. United Funeral Service is honored to be  entrusted with these arrangements.
