Dr. Sneed spoke at Baptist Union County heart luncheon

New Albany- Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union County hosted more than 100 people at a Monday luncheon aimed to raise awareness of heart disease.

Cardiologist Dr. Darrell Sneed spoke to the gathering in the Fellowship Hall of Hillcrest Baptist Church.

Heart disease is the leading cause of death nationwide, accounting for one in every four deaths, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

“Baptist Union County wants to serve as a resource for helping improve the overall health of this community,” said Walter Grace, CEO and administrator of the hospital.

Baptist Union County has been the recipient of many awards, and most recently was recognized as one of only three hospitals in the nation that achieved top performance in all seven of the areas measured in Premier’s Quest collaborative.
