Early morning fire destroys New Albany home/UPDATED

UPDATED 12:15pm 9-30: New Albany Fire Chief, Mark Whiteside, told NEMiss.News that, “We are ruling this fire accidental electrical” in origin.

 

A fire reported at 5 AM Wednesday morning, September 30, destroyed a home on McGraw Street east of South Central Ave. in New Albany.

The frame house was fully involved in flames when several units of the New Albany Fire Department (NAFD)  arrived a few minutes later.

These pictures were taken by an NEMISS.NEWS photographer at 5:19 am.

The house was on the north side of McGraw, about 100 feet east of South Central.

NAFD Chief Mark Whiteside said he did not believe anyone was inside the burning structure.
Whiteside said the owner of the house was on his way to the scene.
