Easter parade and egg hunt draw enthusiastic crowd of children and adults
New Albany’s first Easter Parade and annual Easter Egg Hunt drew good participation and attendance Monday after being postponed due to bad weather Saturday.
Community Development Director Billye Jean Stroud said she was pleased and surprised by the number of entries and crowd.
The parade was sponsored by the New Albany Main Street Association while the egg hunt was held by the Union County Library System.
A variety of parade entries moved from Tallahatchie Trails through downtown and by the Union County Courthouse, where the egg hunt was held. In addition to smaller prizes, a few of the eggs held Main Street Money that can be spent at participating businesses.
