Effie JoAnne Reed Robbins, 75

June 14, 1950 – April 11, 2026

Effie JoAnne Reed Robbins, age 75, departed this earthly life and entered into her eternal glory on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at Tippah County Hospital following a brief illness.

Funeral services honoring Ms. JoAnne’s life will be held at 2 PM Thursday, April 16, 2026, in the Heritage Chapel of Ripley Funeral Home, with visitation from 10 AM until service time. Bro. Bo Rucker will officiate, and burial will follow in Criswell Cemetery, with no graveside service.

Born June 14, 1950, in Falkner, Mississippi, Ms. JoAnne was the daughter of the late James Vernon and Valeria Street Reed. After receiving her education from Blue Mountain High School, she worked in earlier years as a factory worker before going on to build a career spanning more than twenty years as a debt collector with Universal Collections in Memphis, Tennessee, until her retirement. Through the years, she became known for her strong work ethic, friendly spirit, and dedication to providing for those she loved.

A Christian and member of Wesley Congregational Methodist Church, Ms. JoAnne was a woman who found joy in life’s simple pleasures. When able, she enjoyed being outdoors, tending to her garden, admiring the beauty of blooming flowers, and tuning in to NASCAR races on television.

More than anything, Ms. JoAnne cherished her family. Being “Mamaw” was a title she wore with great pride, and she treasured every moment spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She looked forward to holidays, family gatherings, and simple visits, always happiest when surrounded by her people. Her warm smile, outgoing personality, and genuine kindness made everyone feel welcome, and she had a special way of brightening any room she entered.

Ms. JoAnne was truly someone everyone loved. She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and devotion that will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Though she will be missed beyond words, her family finds comfort in the many precious memories she created and the love she so freely gave.

Those left to cherish her memory include her two daughters, Dena Nance (Torri) and Dawn Henry (Corey); her grandchildren, Tyler Henry (Paige), Alison Ralph (Justin), Zack Nance, and Kylie Hall (Cade); her great-grandchildren, Riggins, Anderson Reese, Beau, and Rafe; her sister, Lois Hodges (James); along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepmother, Inez Reed; her brother, James Gerald Reed; and her sisters, Linda Elder and Shirley Windham.
