Elaine Robins, 87

August 2, 1937 – October 11, 2024

Our beloved Elaine Robins at the young age of eight-seven passed away peacefully in her sleep on Friday, October 11, 2024 surrounded by her loving family at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, Mississippi.



Born in Guntown, Mississippi to Clyde and Emmie Jones Robins on August 2, 1937, a life well lived until God called her home.

She professed a hope in Christ at a very young age and united with the Mt. Zion C.M.E. Church of West, Guntown, Mississippi. There, she taught Sunday School, was a member of the choir, and served as the church secretary.

She later moved her church membership to Bethel C.M.E. Church of Guntown, Mississippi where she served faithfully as President of the Stewardree Board, member of the Choir, served on the Kitchen Committee, Missionary Society, and President of the Pastor Aide Committee.

Her favorite songs she enjoyed leading with the choir were After All I Still Have Joy, I Need the Lord, and What A Time. She was so proud of her grandchildren.

Elaine was a former employee of the Baldwyn High School as a Teacher Assistance, her students loved her.

After leaving the school system she began working at the North Mississippi Medical Center where she enjoyed working for forty-one years as a physical therapist assistant. She had a heart of gold when it came to the care of her patients. This is where she made lasting lifelong relationships.

She had a deep interest in and love for gardening, cooking, and singing and could even hit a note on the piano.  She was well known for her famous potato salad, turnip greens and caramel cakes. She kept her secret punch recipe until her passing. So many loved it and always called on her to make it for all occasions.

She will be dearly missed forever by her children, Rev. Monte (Rev. Johnnie) Bobo of Tupelo, Mississippi, Lois (Willie) Gladney of Okolona, Mississippi one brother, Arzell (Ruthie) Robins of West Memphis, Arkansas,  she was the proud grandmother of Rashad, Emily Gilliam both of Guntown, Mississippi, her great grands Emerie , Skylynn both of Guntown, Mississippi, Kyrie of Tupelo, Mississippi, her bonus grands, Kelsey, Kaison, Gary, Olivia, Jasmine and Matthew. her bonus great grands, Amiyah and Elijah.

Elaine was preceded in death by her two brothers, Jones (Lillie) Robins, Idell Robins one sister Loraine (Lester) Harris.

She was favored by her nephews, Sylvester (Vera) Harris of Booneville, Mississippi, Raymond (Gladis) Harris of Guntown, Mississippi, Roy (Chenoa) Robins of Fenton, Missouri, Ray (Jennifer) Robins of Marion, Arkansas
