Epstein accomplice Maxwell asked Supreme Court to overturn her conviction

Last week, Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche traveled to a federal prison in Florida to meet with Ghislaine Maxwell, the former girlfriend and convicted accomplice of late disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein. Blanche conducted interviews with Maxwell over two days. While the Justice Department has not commented publicly about their conversations with Maxwell, reports have indicated that over 100 names were discussed in the two meetings. Senate Democrats have demanded that the Justice Department release recordings and transcripts of Blanche’s interview with Maxwell.

Maxwell’s attorneys have also appealed to the Supreme Court to overturn Maxwell’s 2022 conviction for sex trafficking of minors as Epstein’s accomplice. Her attorneys argue that when the Department of Justice reached a non prosecution agreement with Epstein in 2008, that agreement shielded all of Epstein’s potential accomplices from prosecution as well. The Department of Justice says that that agreement applied only to the Southern District of Florida.

Maxwell’s team say they have not asked Trump for a pardon in exchange for her cooperation with the Justice Department, but say they would “welcome any relief”. Trump says he has not ruled out this possibility.
