Eric Dwayne Ray, age 48, departed this life unexpectedly on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, at his residence in Corinth, Mississippi.

Eric will be laid to rest at 3 PM Friday, September 11, 2026, in Hopewell Cemetery in Benton County, where a brief service honoring his life will be held.

Born April 10, 1978, in Ripley, Mississippi, Eric was the son of the late Russell Scott Crapo and Kathleen Ray Wammack. He received his education from Walnut High School and was employed in the roofing industry, working alongside Terry Abby.

A man of simple pleasures, Eric found happiness in the everyday things that made life enjoyable. He could often be found playing games on his PlayStation 5, listening to all kinds of music, especially good old Rock and Roll, or simply spending time with the people he loved most. Above all, time with his wife and daughter meant the most to him.

Eric was a friend to everyone who knew and loved him. He had a way of making himself a part of the lives of those around him, and his unexpected passing leaves an absence that will be deeply felt. His presence, friendship, and the memories he leaves behind will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Those left to cherish Eric’s memory include his wife, Samantha “Michelle” Ray; his daughter, Kymberly “Kymmie” Ray; his stepfather, Cecil Clyde Wammack; his sister, Katlin Wammack; his brother, Dylan Wammack; and a host of extended family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his infant son, Devin Scott.
