Ervie Lee Johnson III was born August 2, 1982 in Tupelo, Mississippi to Ervie and Joyce Johnson. He was a member of Gordon Chapel of Houlka, Mississippi and attended King City of Tupelo, Mississippi. He attended Houlka Attendance Center and graduated with the class of 2000.

He was a beloved son, father, brother, fiancé, cousin, uncle, friend, and coworker. He was known to light up any room he walked into. His love, laughter, and overall presence will be greatly missed. He was the epitome of love and joy.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents; maternal grandparents; his baby sister, Precious Johnson; and beloved niece, Destiny Pratt.

Ervie leaves to cherish his memory: his beloved parents, Ervie and Joyce Johnson; his children, Elias Johnson, Cali Johnson, and unborn son, Caleb Johnson; his brothers, LeChristopher D. Pratt (Shay) of Pontotoc, MS, Anthony T. Johnson (Kristie) of Pontotoc, MS; his sisters, Marquitta J. Hoskins (Hollis) of Tupelo, MS, Ashley L. Pulliam (Jacory) of Belden, MS, and Alexis S. Gardner of Saltillo, MS; his beloved fiancé, Amelia Burchfield of Tupelo, MS; two special daughters, Tierra Zinn and Janice Berry of Pontotoc, MS; his extended family, Mark and Marissa Underwood, and Halley Burchfield of Caledonia, MS; along with a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Visitation will be Saturday, August 22, 2026, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Payton Mortuary. Funeral service will be Sunday, August 23, 2026, at 2:00 PM at House of Mercy, 125 Malcomb Drive, Houston, MS 38851.
