Eula Flake Hodge, 85
November 6, 1939 – October 29, 2025
Eula Flake Hodge, 85, of Pocahontas, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on October 29, 2025, in her hometown. Born on November 6, 1939, in Pocahontas, Tennessee, Eula was the daughter of Dalton and Pearl Mynatt Flake. She spent her life rooted in the community where she was born and raised, building a home filled with love and devotion. Eula was married to Robert Hodge for 60 years until his passing on March 6, 2015. Together they built a life centered around family and faith.
A dedicated homemaker, Eula found joy in the simple pleasures of country living. She had a passion for gardening and took great pride in canning and freezing vegetables each year to share with her loved ones. Her flower beds were always vibrant with color, and she lovingly tended to her chickens as part of her daily routine. Her constant companion was her beloved little dog “Penny,” who brought her endless comfort and companionship. A woman of deep faith, Eula was a devoted member of Middleton First United Pentecostal Church. Her church family held a special place in her heart, and she cherished the fellowship and spiritual connection she found there. Eula’s legacy lives on through her children: daughter Reba Harwell (John) and son Jackie Hodge (Shellie), both of Pocahontas, Tennessee. She was a proud grandmother to Britney Hodge of Pocahontas and John Dicks (“Jaybird”) of Saltillo, Tennessee. Her love extended to two great-grandchildren who brought joy to her later years. She is also remembered fondly by a host of nieces and nephews who were dear to her heart, as well as close friends Johnny and Betty Rixie of Middleton, Tennessee.
Eula was preceded in death by her husband Robert Hodge; her parents Dalton and Pearl Mynatt Flake; and her grandson Lowell Matthew Wilbanks. Her memory will be treasured by all who knew her-for the warmth she shared so freely, the traditions she upheld with care, and the quiet strength that defined her life. May her memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her. A Visitation will be held on November 1, 2025, from 11 AM until 1 PM at Middleton First United Pentecostal Church 18465 Highway 57.
