Fair Lynoel Hays, Jr., 82

Tupelo-Fair Lynoel Hays, Jr., departed this life from Sanctuary Hospice House on Friday, April 4, 2025 at 10:30 AM after battling cancer. He was 82. Born in Seminole, Oklahoma on March 21, 1943 to the late Fair L. Hays, Sr. and Bonnie Code Hays, he grew up in Lake Village, Arkansas and eventually graduated from Clarksdale, MS High School. While living in Clarksdale, the family were members of Oakhurst Baptist Church. He first was employed in the family business, Hays House Movers, headquartered in Clarksdale. He spent 25 years as a technician for IBM Company. Mr. Hays enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing and exploring Indian lore including his extensive collection of rocks and fossils. His great joy involved the quality time spent with his two sons, their wives and doting over his nine grandchildren, who lovingly called him Grampy.
A service celebrating Mr. Hays life will be held at 2 PM Tuesday, April 8, 2025 in the Sadie Holland Memorial Chapel at Holland Funeral Directors-Tupelo with Bro. James Francis officiating. His son, Cory Hays will provide music. Private burial will follow in Lee Memorial Park in Verona. Visitation will be from Noon-service time on Tuesday only at Holland-Tupelo Chapel which is honored to be serving their friends. For those unable to attend, the service may be viewed at hollandfuneraldirectors.com/Live-streaming at 2 PM Tuesday and will be permanently archived thereafter.
Survivors include his two sons, Fair Hays III and wife, Misty of Saltillo, and Cory Hays and wife, Lucy of Tupelo; his nine Hays grandchildren, Fair IV, Gabby, Wyatt, Brooke, Elias, Landon, Seth, Ruthie and Bradyon Hays. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Sherry, and a sister, Carmen Charlotte Hays.
