Original Post:

A fire was reported a few minutes before 7 pm Monday, December 3rd in a BNSF Railroad freight yard north of the Toyota plant in eastern Union County. The fire was in a small “switch engine,” owned and operated by Toyota. The freight yard is north of Highway 178 and west of Highway 9

There was considerable confusion in finding the exact location of the fire, and several fire engines and their crews were misdirected. There are a number of unmarked, narrow roads in the area. Toyota’s own fire department was on the scene and reportedly had called for help, believing they would need more water.

While the NAnewsweb.com reporter was talking to firemen from the Southeast Fire Department about the exact location of the fire, a call came on Southeast hand-held radio saying that the fire had been knocked down. That report came at 7:20 PM. Apparently the Toyota fire department had the fire under control.

Southeast is the volunteer fire department that serves much of eastern Union County.

The small switch engine is neither owned nor operated by Toyota. Make sure you get your facts straight if you’re going to report a story.
