Fleeing teenager arrested at New Albany Pilot Truck Stop

It has been confirmed to NEMiss.News by New Albany authorities that the New Albany Police Department arrested a teen attempting to flee from Lewisburg, MS (Desoto County).

The 16 year old male teenager was wanted in Lewisburg, MS for shooting twice into an occupied dwelling. The teen was arrested without incident at the Pilot Truck Stop in New Albany. He is now in the custody of authorities in Desoto County.

A felony conviction for shooting into an occupied dwelling in Mississippi, whether or not injuries occur, “shall be punished by imprisonment in the state penitentiary for a term not to exceed ten (10) years, or by imprisonment in the county jail for not more than one (1) year, or by fine of not more than five thousand dollars ($ 5,000.00), or by both such imprisonment and fine, within the discretion of the court.” Mississippi code: 97-37-29 (2013).
