Fleurette Ausburn, 95

June 21, 1930  –  December 12, 2025

Fleurette Stamey Ausburn, 95, peacefully passed away on December 12, 2025, at the New Albany Health and Rehab in New Albany, MS. Born on June 21, 1930 in Sledge, Mississippi, to George Bly and Susie Smith Stamey, her life was a tapestry of dedication, creativity, and love, woven with the rich threads of family and community service.



She is survived by her devoted daughter Glenda Simmons (Charlie), her son Steve Ausburn (Renee), her adored four grandchildren Chad Ausburn (Cortney), Ben Ausburn (Carley), Ashlee Hill (Corey), Ginger Burns (Brandon), and the ten great grandchildren who lit up her world. Although she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Linson Ausburn, and her parents, the love they shared continues to resonate within the family.

Her career, as a retired office manager for Futorian Furniture Mfg., showcased not only her professional excellence but also her deep commitment to her community. As a former Alderman for the Town of Myrtle, she demonstrated her steadfast determination to improve the lives of those around her. Her passion for literacy and learning inspired her instrumental role in establishing a library in Myrtle, a lasting symbol of her tenacity and service.

A woman of profound faith, Fleurette was a cherished member of Myrtle First Church, where she practiced her Christian beliefs with unwavering devotion. Her involvement with the Friends of the Library- Myrtle further exemplified her commitment to spreading knowledge and joy throughout her community.

After her retirement, Fleurette unleashed her creativity and handy nature as she meticulously crafted quilts, baby quilts, and Christmas Tree skirts. Her loving hands created countless Christmas stockings, and beautiful baby dresses for family and friends, each stitch a testament to her boundless love and caring heart.

A visitation will be at Myrtle First Church on Wednesday, December 17, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. until service time at 1:00 p.m. Dr. Jeff Lawrence will officiate. Burial will be at Gerizim Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Chad Ausburn, Ben Ausburn, Corey Hill, Brandon Burns, Mike Ausburn and Kelly Thomas.
