Frances Morgan Dempsey, 61
November 30, 1963 – October 4, 2025
Frances Morgan Dempsey, age 61, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. Born on November 30, 1963, to the late James Milton Morgan and Luna Mae Rowland Morgan, Frances was one of eight children and grew up surrounded by strong family bonds that shaped her into the remarkable woman she became.
Though she was the youngest, she never carried the typical “baby of the family” mentality. Frances possessed a deep wisdom, one earned through experience and reflection. She gently but firmly offered her insights to those she loved, and even if not accepted at first, her words often proved true.
Frances had a generous spirit that reflected the heart of her Heavenly Father. She was dependable and discerning, always knowing just how to help when someone was in need. Unafraid to be her true self, she created space for others to do the same. The fruit of that authenticity was a lifetime filled with deep, satisfying friendships that brought her immense joy.
Her greatest joy came from being “Franny” to her grandchildren. Her generosity toward them was so abundant it sometimes had to be gently reined in—but her giving nature came from pure love and delight, never from obligation or expectation. She gave simply because she loved to give.
Frances also had a keen eye for beauty. She had a natural knack for decorating and an effortless sense of what was stylish and timeless. She loved her work as a realtor, a role that beautifully combined her gifts: her love of people, her joy in helping others make meaningful life decisions, and her appreciation for the beauty found in every home. She could find the good and the lovely in anything and anyone.
Those who knew Frances will remember her remarkable memory, which reflected how deeply she listened and cared when others spoke. Her presence made people feel seen, known, and valued.
Frances is survived by her husband of 21 years, Thomas Dempsey; her son, Pierce Morgan (Kaitlyn); her two adored grandchildren, Hayes Morgan, and Hendrix Morgan; two brothers, Tommy Morgan (JoAnna), and Rickey Morgan; three sisters, Annette Newborn, Jeanie Henderson (Mark), and Dorothy Coggins (Joe); her sister-in-law, Cheri Morgan; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family who loved her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents; stepdaughter, Marie Dempsey; two brothers, James Morgan, and Lewis Morgan; and grandson, Miles Thomas Morgan.
Visitation will be held at 10 a.m. until service times Thursday, October 9, 2025, at Pegues, Tupelo.
A service honoring her life will be 11 a.m. Thursday, October 9, 2025, at the Jefferson Street Chapel of Pegues with Rev. Joe Coggins officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sanctuary Hospice House, PO Box 2177, Tupelo, MS 38803.
Frances will be remembered for her wisdom, generosity, authenticity, and steadfast love. Her life was a reflection of grace and kindness; a life that touched countless hearts and will continue to inspire all who knew her.
