Frances “Sharon” Medlin, 76

April 19, 1948 – January 15, 2025

Frances “Sharon” Medlin, 76, resident of Ripley, passed away at her home on Wednesday, January 15, 2025.  Services honoring the life of Sharon are pending and will be announced at a later date.

Born April 19, 1948, in Tippah County, she was the daughter of the late Homer and Willodean Reeves Waldrep Sutela and Henry Sutela.  A Christian, Sharon was a homemaker and a seamstress.  Being very artistic, she loved crafting, made all her children’s clothes and enjoyed Facebook, since its debut.  She enjoyed listening to country music by her favorite artists, such as George Strait, The Eagles, Kenny Rogers and Keith Whitley.  Being a wonderful provider for her daughters, they would often say, “She would do without, so they wouldn’t have to go without.”   She loved her entire family deeply, especially her grandchildren and will be sorely missed.

Mrs. Medlin is survived by two daughters, Kimberly Waldon of Ripley and Jennifer K. Willis of Tupelo, three sisters, Irene and Debbie Bunting and Madeline Gibson all of Michigan, one brother, Thomas Waldrep of Michigan, four grandchildren, Austin Waldon (Julie), Blake Waldon (Nichole), Anna Waldon (Taylor Mays) and Natalie Willis, five great-grandchildren plus one on the way, and her loyal canine, Willow.

She is preceded in death by three brothers, Ronnie, Bill and Joe Waldrep.
