Mooreville-Frankie “Jean” McCarley Davis Oliver, age 69, of Mooreville, loving known as “Mamaw” and “Aunt Jean” passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Monday February 16, 2026, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. She was born on October 16, 1956 to Franklin “Frank” and Virginia McCarley at Tupelo. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend whose warmth and kindness touched everyone who knew her.
Jean found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved playing bingo, video games, and cards, and she was always ready for a little friendly competition. More than anything, she cherished the time she spent with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Her family was her greatest pride and her deepest joy. Jean was well known for her wonderful home cooking. Her kitchen was the heart of her home, and her fried pork chops were a treasured family favorite. No one ever left her table hungry, and every meal was served with love, laughter, and good conversation. She will be remembered for her generous spirit, her strength, her sense of humor, and the unconditional love she gave so freely. Her legacy lives on in the many lives she nurtured and the memories her family will hold close forever.
A service celebrating her life will take place at 1 PM Thursday, February 19, 2026 in the Sadie Holland Memorial Chapel at Holland Funeral Directors-Tupelo with Bro. Billy Wayne Henderson officiating. Burial will be in New Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 11 AM Thursday only at Holland Funeral Directors-Tupelo which is honored to be serving their friends. For those unable to attend, the service may be watched at hollandfuneraldirectors.com/live-streaming at 1 Pm and will be archived thereafter.
She is survived by daughter, Tina Marie Davis; sons, Michael Dean Davis, Jr.(Kelly), Bobby Lee Davis(Anna Marie), and Benton Lee Davis; grandchildren, Michael Dean Davis, III (Katie), Jackie Davis, Josh Davis (Aspen), Tony Rucker (Lindsley), Tay Rucker (Katelyn), Chris Rucker (Gracie), Bobby Lee Davis, Jr., Kyler Davis (Caitlyn), Brittany Nicole Davis, DeShaun “Doodlebug” Davis, David Walls (Paige), and Larry Walls(Haven), and Chase Estes; 24 great grandchildren; siblings, Stephanie Ann Conwill (Johnny), William “Tommy” Thomas McCarley (Sonya), and Franklin “Bug” McCarley, Jr.; host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; and longtime friends, Angel Gasaway, and Mike Davis.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Danny Joe Oliver; daughter, Melissa Jane Davis; her parents, Frank and Virginia McCarley and her sister, Wanda Ruth Henderson.
Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
