Freddie Lee Fair, 72

Our much-loved Dad, Pawpaw, brother, brother-in-law, and uncle, Freddie Fair, passed away on February 2, 2023, at the Veterans Hospital in Jackson, MS, following a lengthy illness. He was a native of the West Union area and had lived in Madison for the past 15 years.



Funeral Services will be held at Macedonia Baptist Church at 2:00 PM on Monday, February 6, with visitation at 1:00PM prior to the service. Chaplain David Allen of the Veterans Hospital, who was a faithful friend and longtime visitor to Freddie, will officiate.  Military Honors will be observed.

Freddie was born August 24, 1950, in New Albany, MS, to the late Malcom and Doris Garrison Fair and graduated from West Union Attendance Center. Following his service in the Army with a tour in Vietnam, he attended Northeast Mississippi Community College and received his associates degree in TV repair. He worked in that field for many years and also for Rogers Gas.

He was much loved by his family and will be greatly missed.

Those left to cherish memories include his daughter, Lauren Tigrett (Jon), his sons, Lee Fair (Sherry) and Jamie Fair (Brandy); four grandchildren, Cameron Fair, Cason, Hallie, and Bramlett Tigrett; brothers, Henry Fair (Debbie) and Johnathan Fair; sisters, Sarah Farr and Sandra Wall (Mike) and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Freddie was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Dan. He was a member of the West Tallahatchie Baptist Church.

Pallbearers are Chris Brock, Benjamin Carter, Brock Carter, Andrew Childers, Stone Fair, Josh Kent, CJ Shirley and Jacob Shirley. Honorary Pallbearers are Mike Carter, Jason Coffey, Gary Helton, Jake Kent, Chance Ragsdale and Jim Shirley.

The family wants to thank his long-term Home Care nursing team of Carolyn, Jennifer, Melinda, Kimberly and especially Amanda who enabled Freddie to remain living at home. We are forever grateful.

Also, Sarah, Henry, John Lauren Lee and Jamie want to thank his sister, Sandra, for the devotion and love for the past fifteen years of care.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that anyone wishing to honor Freddie would make a contribution to the upcoming AFM mission trip of his great niece, Bella Brock. 1295 CR 14 Myrtle, MS 38650

Because of the blessed hope in Jesus that He lives, and because Freddie placed his trust in Jesus as his Savior, we know that we will see him again soon.
