Gale Joseph Blanchard, 85
August 12, 1939 – April 19, 2025
Gale Joseph Blanchard, 85, a resident of New Albany, passed away peacefully early Saturday morning, April 19, 2025, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Union County.
Born August 12, 1939, in Marrero, Louisiana, Mr. Blanchard was the son of the late Anatole and Theresa Bourge Blanchard. A graduate of West Jefferson High School in Louisiana, he was a barber for sixty years until his retirement four years ago. On January 16, 1960, he married his beloved wife, Carmen Rodrigue, who precedes him in death. Later in life, they moved to New Albany, where he became a faithful member of St. Francis Catholic Church.
Mr. Blanchard’s service will be held in Louisiana, still the family ask that you continue to share the stories made with such a kind and selfless man. He will be remembered most as a very devoted husband and father as well as a very loved man by his community. They find comfort in knowing that he is now peacefully resting as his memory lives on in the generosity he shared, the love he gave, and the countless lives he touched.
Memories will be cherished by two daughters, Eydie Pullman (James) of New Albany, and Donna Fasullo (Tony) of Marrero, Louisiana, one son, Davin Blanchard of Marrero, Louisiana, eleven grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Carmen and his parents.
