Gary Dewayne Hogue, 48

Peaceful Valley Community – Mr. Gary “Dewayne “Hogue, age 48, died suddenly at his residence in the Peaceful Valley Community of Itawamba Co. on Monday, July 7, 2025. He was born June 30, 1977 in Tupelo, MS to the late Gary Dean Hogue and Linda Grace Allred Bass. He was employed by McCarty King Construction for over 20 years. Dewayne was an avid hunter and fisherman who loved the outdoors. He was happiest when running dogs with all his hunting buddies in Peaceful Valley and beyond, riding 4 wheelers and being a huge Ole Miss Rebel fan.
A celebration of life service will be at 2 PM, Sunday, July 13, 2025 in the Sadie M. Holland Memorial Chapel of Holland Funeral Directors-Tupelo with Bro. Marty Merritt officiating. Visitation will be Sunday only from 12 noon to service time. A private family graveside service will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery north of Mantachie. Holland Funeral Directors-Tupelo is honored to be serving the family.
Dewayne is survived by his mother, Linda Bass; 2 sisters Melinda Mason (JR) of Belden and Beverly Christopher (Joey) of Nettleton; 2 step-sisters Lisa Sanders and Tammy Dunn (Mike) and 1 step-brother Kerral Waters (Donna); one daughter Chana (Jacob) and one son Chance; one grandson Oliver; nieces Courtney Mason, Brittany Cuevas (Roman), Miranda Cook (Garrett); nephews Justin Mason, Brandon Christopher and several great nieces and nephews; uncle Troy Hogue, Jr. (Sheila) of Mantachie; aunt Nelda Pearce (Mooch) of Mantachie, Brenda Shaw (Joe) of Corinth, Edith Moore of Booneville and a lot of cousins; special friend and companion, Cindy Smith and her 3 children.
Pallbearers will be Dewayne’s nephews- Justin Mason, Brandon Christopher, Roman Cuevas, Garrett Cook, Matt Davis and Mark Gillespie. Honorary pallbearers will be Joey Thompson, Shane Pritchard, Lorne Thompson and his hunting buddies from Peaceful Valley.
