George Robert Davis, 82

August 2, 1943 – August 31, 2025

George Robert Davis, known as Bob or Bobby to most everyone who came to know and love him, departed this life on Sunday morning, August 31, 2025, at Christian Care Center in Bolivar, Tennessee.

Per his request, Mr. Davis will be cremated, and a memorial service will be held at a later date. The family deeply appreciates your prayers at this time as they mourn the loss of their dear brother, holding tightly to the many cherished memories made with him.

Born on August 2, 1943, in Bolivar, Tennessee, Mr. Davis was the son of the late Robert Samuel and Martha Crawford Davis. He was a proud graduate of Middleton High School and faithfully served his country in the United States Navy from 1963 until 1967. After returning home, he married the love of his life, Mrs. Margie, and together they shared forty beautiful years of marriage until her passing on May 28, 2009.

A devoted worker, Mr. Davis spent twenty years at Clifton Correction Center, where he served as a security guard until his well-earned retirement.

More importantly, he was a saved Christian and a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Parsons, Tennessee. He lived a life anchored in his love for the Lord, reading his Bible daily and seeking out opportunities to serve others. Many will remember him for his kindness in delivering groceries to shut-ins and lending a hand to anyone in need.

Outside of his ministry and service, Mr. Davis found joy in cheering on his beloved Tennessee Volunteers—whether football or basketball—raising and riding horses, engaging in lively conversations about politics or Scripture, and caring for his pets, who were like family to him.

Bob’s life was a testimony of faith, love, and service. His gentle spirit, steady presence, and unwavering devotion to those he loved will continue to inspire all who knew him. Though his earthly journey has ended, the impact of his life will be felt for generations to come. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered with love, respect, and gratitude.

Those left to cherish his memories include two sisters, Dianne O’Daniel (Mac), and Rose Watkins (Jerry), four nieces, Penny Glidewell (Michael), Dana Thornton (Tony), Shannon Whisnant (Fred), and Brandi Jones (Phil), one nephew, Lynn Luttman (Carla), along with a host of cousins, family, and friends.
