George W. Doss, born on October 10, 1947, passed peacefully on April 15, 2026, at his residence. A memorial service honoring George’s life will be held on Friday. April 17, 2026, at 12:00 PM at Middleton Church of Christ, with visitation beginning at 11:00 AM at the church.

George was born on October 10, 1947, to the late Wilford Woodrow Doss and Lottie Mae Blain Doss. He was a faithful member of Middleton Church of Christ. He lived a life marked by strength, resilience, and a quiet devotion to those he loved most.

A throat cancer survivor, George faced life’s hardest battles with courage and determination, never allowing them to define him, but instead using them as a testament to his unwavering faith. George will be remembered for his steady presence, his kind heart, and the deep love he had for his family.  He was humble, reliable, and strong in ways that were always felt. The kind of man who showed up when it mattered most. His life was not measured simply in years, but in the countless lives he touched and the love he gave so freely.

He is survived by his loving wife, Jo Doss; his daughter and son-in-law, Kelly and Jeff Brewer; one sister, Shirley Branch; one brother, Joe Doss; and two cherished grandchildren, Lily Jo Brewer and Hudson Doss Brewer.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Brenda Kay: and four brothers, Cecil James, Sonny White, James Doss, and Ronny Doss.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Legacy Hospice, and to his devoted nurses, Delana and Emily, for the compassionate care and support shown during his final days.

Though he may be gone from this world, his legacy of love, strength, and quiet faithfulness will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
