Gilbert C. Koon, 84, passed away Friday, February 15, 2019 at Sanctuary Hospice in Tupelo. He was born October 12, 1934 in Booneville to David Jackson Koon and Jodie Hicks Koon. He retired from Mohasco and was a member of Glenfield Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be at 11:00a.m. Monday, February 18, 2019 at Glenfield Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Lowery and Rev. Milton Koon officiating. Burial will be at Glenfield Memorial Park. United Funeral Service will be in charge of the arrangements.

He is survived by his daughter, Teresa Jeter (Randy) of Myrtle; five brothers, Randall Koon (Connie) of Ripley, Larry Koon (Brenda) of New Albany, Milton Koon (Diane) of Jackson, Arthur Koon (Carylon of New Albany and David Koon of Tupelo; two grandchildren, Chad Jeter (Amy) and Chase Jeter (Lauren), both of Myrtle; and four great grandchildren: Anna Rae Jeter, Lily Jeter, Sophie Jeter and Jack Randle Jeter.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Tedford Koon; his parents; his son, Mike Koon; two sisters, Janice Gilley and Brenda Koon; and a brother, Billy Koon.

Pallbearers will be Randy Ferguson, Bill Prescott, Jerry Towery, Doyle Dunham, Ted Jones and Jerry Swain. His brothers will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Visitation will be Sunday, February 17, 2019 from 5:00p.m. until 8:00p.m. at Glenfield Baptist Church.
