Glenda Duvall, 74

October 30, 1949  –  September 11, 2024

SHERMAN – Glenda Dell Berryhill Duvall (Burell) departed this earthly toil on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at her home in Sherman, MS as a result of a fall. Glenda was born October 30, 1949 to the union of James William Berryhill and Mamie Ruth Stevens Berryhill (Brown). She attended Saltillo High School and graduated in 1967. She worked in various secretarial roles throughout her working years. Glenda had a profound love for her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, being raised in the Tupelo Assembly of God congregation. Gifted with learning to play piano by ear, she played the piano for a number of years at Shiloh Baptist Church in Mantachie where she raised her children. Later in life, she found her spiritual happiness in the Pentecostal faith. Upon retirement and her children’s departure for their own pursuits, Glenda made her residence in the town of Sherman, MS.



Glenda is survived by her son, Mark Ashley Duvall of Mantachie; her daughter, Melissa Nicole Duvall-Karjala and husband, Joe of Franklin, TN, and her fur babies- Peppi and Zoe; her sister, Deletha Berryhill Norris of Oak Hill Community in Saltillo, and her step brothers and sisters, Roger (Jane) Brown, Vickie (Larry) Sheffield, and Rhonda (Bob) Shumpert, sister-in-law Marie Brown, and her nieces and nephews who called her “Aunt Glen.” She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents, step father Leland Jay Brown, and step brother Paul Brown.

A Graveside Service will be held at 12 PM on Saturday, September 14, 2024 at Oakhill Cemetery (1328 CR 885, Saltillo, MS). The family will receive friends afterwards. Holland Funeral Directors-Tupelo is honored to serve the family.
