H.D. Allen, 78

February 2, 1947 – May 2, 2025

OKOLONA – Harvey Dean “HD” Allen completed his earthly duties and went to be with our Lord and Savior on May 2, 2025. He was 78 years old. Born on Feb. 2, 1947 to the late Lela Erin Parker and Thomas Elkin Allen, he graduated from Okolona High School in 1965 and joined the Army National Guard shortly afterward. A patriotic American, he took great pride in his 35 years of service and enjoyed telling stories of boot camp and missions overseas. He met the love of his life, Dawn Dauphinais, in November of 1972 and they married May 3, 1973. He spent the next 52 years building a beautiful family. His life work was in furniture manufacturing, first with Futorian and later retiring from United Furniture where he was a Supervisor. He loved being outdoors, hunting, fishing, metal detecting, civil war relics, or just riding around spending time with his closest friends. HD faithfully attended Bethany Church of God of Prophecy and loved to hear his son preach God’s word. HD was not a man of many words but had a heart of pure gold. To know him was to love him. He will be greatly missed by all.

HD had a large family that he was incredibly proud of. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Dawn Dauphinais Allen; one son, Dean Allen (Natalie) of Okolona; daughters, Michelle Hester (DJ) and Catherine King (Johnny) both of Crestview, FL, and Kate Wright (Terry) of WV;
