Harold Wayne Bryant, 96

September 12, 1928 – December 16, 2024

On Monday, December 16, 2024, Harold Wayne Bryant, 96. resident of Myrtle, passed away in the comfort of his home following a sudden illness. A Memorial Service will be at 2 PM on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at Union Hill Church, 1004 CR 60, Myrtle, MS 38650 with a visitation from 1 PM to 2 PM. Family request that donations be directed to the church.

Mr. Bryant was born September 12, 1928, in New Albany, MS, the son of the late Sylvester Thaddius and Florence Benefield Bryant. He received his education from the Macedonia School System, proudly served his country in the Unites States Navy and continued his education at Northeast Mississippi Community college and Mississippi State University. Mr. Bryant was a valued employee of the United States Postal Service for 30 years before his retirement. Following his retirement, he worked for the Northwest Air Link for several years.

A member of Union Hill in Myrtle, Mr. Bryant will be remembered for his loved of his family, St Louis Cardinal Baseball, and was an avid Mississippi State fan. He was one to have “never met a stranger” and enjoyed the companionship of friends and family.

Precious memories will continue to be shared by three daughters, Diane Lear (Mike) of Athens, AL, Denise Scott of Pueblo, CO and Stephanie Bryant of Ripley, one son, Hal Bryant (Charlene) pf Collierville, TN, one sister, Carolyn Gasken of Poolville, MS, ten grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Jean Bryant, his second wife, Irene Bryant, one son, Bobby Keith Bryant, one sister, Betty Jane Bryant and a brother-in-law, Bill Gasken.
