Hazel Davis, 89

May 8, 1937 – October 1, 2026

Hazel Naomi Myrick Dunnam Davis was born May 8, 1937 to Charles Earl Myrick and Lela Cooper Myrick in the Lonestar Community of Union County. Hazel passed away on Thursday, October 1, 2026. She attended grammar school at Lonestar Elementary and finished high school at Pinedale High School in 1955.

She became a worker in the credit department of several companies over the years. She was a credit manager at Sears in Tupelo until the credit department closed, and later worked at Bancorp South in the mortgage and credit card departments.

Hazel loved music of all kinds, but in her later years became especially fond of bluegrass attending many festivals and concerts. She was a vocal talent and sang for many audiences over the last 30 years.

She is survived by her son, Shawn Dunnam, a special niece, Brenda Bell (Tim) a special nephew, Tony Gates and other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Davis, her sisters and brother-in-law, Ruth Canerdy (Perry) Pearl Hill (Lloyd) Faye Dowdy (Royce), Thomas Myrick (Melvie), Mable Gates (Ducan) and Linda Smith (Cecil)

Per Hazels request there will be no services. Any memorials can be charity of the donor’s choice.
