House committee releases photos of Clinton, Trump, Woody Allen and others from Epstein estate
Democrats on the House Oversight Committee have released 19 new photos from the Epstein estate, showing some of the late financier and sex trafficker’s powerful friends. You can see the photos here (scroll down). None of the photos show any incriminating conduct. However, there are some images of sex toys.
The images show many powerful men who have been previously connected publicly to Epstein. They include:
- Former President Bill Clinton
- President Donald Trump (before his presidency)
- Microsoft billionaire Bill Gates
- Film director Woody Allen
- Former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak
- Larry Summers, former Harvard president and principal architect of the 2008 bank bailout during the Obama administration
- Steve Bannon, former advisor to President Trump
- Alan Dershowitz, Epstein’s attorney
- Virgin Airlines billionaire Richard Branson
- Dean Kamen, inventor of the Segway
- Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor (formerly Prince Andrew of the UK)
- Emirati businessman Ahmed Bin Sulayem
- Musician Jimmy Buffett
What does the release show?
While some of the photos show Trump in Epstein’s company, other (probably later) photos appear to satirize Trump years after his friendship with Epstein ended. One of the photos shows a condom wrapper with Trump’s face on it with a sign advertising a “Trump condom” for $4.50. Another shows a picture of a pumpkin with a wig on it, with a sign saying “Trumpkin: Make Halloween Great Again”.
The photos released today do little more than illustrate connections already known to exist between Epstein and these men. However, the interest in the photos helps keep the story in the public eye at a critical moment. A law passed last month requires the Department of Justice to release all its investigative materials on Epstein to Congress on or before December 19, which is next Friday.
However, shortly before the bill became law, the Justice Department announced it would reopen its investigation into Epstein, specifically his ties to Bill Clinton, Larry Summers, Democratic party donor Reid Hoffman, and the financial institution JPMorganChase. It is possible the DOJ could withhold certain documents by citing their open investigation, but they have not yet announced plans to do so.
Who has been accused?
Most of the men appearing in these photos have acknowledged their connections to Epstein, have expressed regret for their association with him, and denied any wrongdoing where Epstein’s victims are concerned.
Only three of these men – Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, Ehud Barak, and Alan Dershowitz – have ever been accused of misconduct by any of Epstein’s victims. All three men were accused at different times by Virginia Giuffre, who committed suicide earlier this year.
All three men denied Giuffre’s accusations, although Mountbatten-Windsor paid her a multi-million dollar settlement. When Dershowitz denied Giuffre’s claims, she sued him for defamation. However, Giuffre later dropped the suit and said she “may have been mistaken” in identifying Dershowitz as one of her abusers.
There were no legal proceedings between Barak and Giuffre before Giuffre’s death.
